I opened up my Facebook this morning to be greeted with a chorus of ‘Happy Birthday’ messages. Thank you all so much!
I’ve had a slightly frantic few weeks doing rewrites on my film script Inferno, as well as working on a new movie idea for producer Richard Pim. So after a gloriously sociable Eastercon I’ve been heads down, nailed to the desk, and eyes fixed on the computer screen.
So today’s the day to stop, take a breath, live some life.
If you’re a friend of mine and haven’t heard from me in ages – hi! Normal service will now be resumed.
Plan A is to stroll across to Dulwich Gallery this morning, have a coffee, and look at their Painting of the Month. (Every month a different masterpiece is on display). Today it’s a Rembrandt. Yum.
Tonight is a meal in an Italian restaurant up the hill. And my wife and I went to Oxford for the day on Saturday as a pre-birthday birthday treat. That’s where we meet – aaah! – and it’s where I went to University. It”s a place brimming over with the magic of place.
Tomorrow it’s NOT my birthday. Drat. I love birthdays.,
