Today is the official UK publication date for Version 43, and I’ve gone to considerable trouble and expense to organise the first ever virtual launch party. This means, er, that there isn’t really a party at all.
But if you have a fondness for the universe of Debatable Space, and you happen to be anywhere near a glass of alcohol tonight (and why wouldn’t you be?) do raise a glass to the new book: Version 43. I certainly shall…

Excellent. I just got my Kindle version 5 mins ago
I almost didn’t though. For some reason your publisher didn’t allow Amazon UK to list that a Kindle edition even existed until the paper copy came out. That means the ebook version didn’t show up in the coming soon section of the Kindle store and if I hadn’t wandered randomly into Waterstones today I wouldn’t even have known it was out.
Really looking forward to reading it though. Loved your last two books.
In fact. If you go to the recently released section for the sci-fi section of the Kindle UK store Version 43 isn’t listed at all. Do publishers hate us ebook readers or is Amazon just a bit imcompetant?
Interesting to see that Iain Banks has exactly the same problem with Surface Detail too though
Very strange about the listings…though even odder things happen. Fantastic Fiction have details of the imminent publication of a book by me called Dark Souls which I am not in fact writing. I did write a treatment but Orbit didn’t go for it, they asked me to do a different book called Artemis instead. I might write it ONE day but I’ve no idea how they even knew about it.
I was at Newcon on the weekend and was sneaking a peek at my ebooks on a friend’s Kindle. (I’m a paper Luddite I’m afraid.) All 3 are available but I’ve no idea why they’re not being promoted!
So glad you enjoyed the previous books…
