As chance would have it, the rights to Asimov's Foundation have just been acquired in a Hollywood bidding war by 'Independence Day' director Roland Emmerich. Watch out for Hari and the Mule, at a cinema near you...

Yes, Battlestar Galactica was what I was thinking of it does spark about 1.5 brain cells. It would be nice to light up a few more areas, perhaps they should try a few of the good SF authors and actually keep the story rather than pick out the action, Foundation by Asimov being a good one.

I agree completely...You've got Tv shows like Battlestar Galactica that deliver action and thrills and yet have real ideas at work, and leave you thinking about the themes for weeks afterwards...but in the movies, it's all shoot 'em up. (Or if it's an action movie like UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS, bite 'em up.)

it,s a pity this film has no thinking potential and as your review says just some good action (which isn,t all that bad I suppose ).

When are they going to bring out a good thinking film that includes some good action, sigh.
