One of the projects I'm proudest of is my free adaptation of Edmund Spenser's The Faerie Queene for BBC Radio 4 (to read a script, click here.)
I was asked in an interview recently about how the idea of Debatable Space came about, and suddenly I remembered how much I had been influenced by the heightened, exaggerative style of this radio play. The style came first, oddly enough, then the story followed.
For more on this, you can see an interview I did for Sci Fi Wire.

Right Young Phil, I have bought the book, now all I need is the author to come to Leeds to sign it so that when he dies it will be worth a fortune. Any travel dates planned?

Harry, my Loper friend! (Sorry, in joke there.)
Glad you have the book. I'm in Leeds on Friday but may not have much time to socialise. Let's meet up soon though. When did you anticipate me dying, so you can make that fortune? It's always handy to know the date....

Glowing review of Debatable Space in Saturday's Guardian, in case you haven't seen it yet...

Yes, I saw that - very heartening!

They had a good take on Halting State, too, which I also enjoyed -- I like the Guardian!
By the way, you wouldn't happen to have audio for the Spenser Play would you? Or does that infringe on all sorts of BBC copyright rights
Best,
